February 28, 2010 Dear Potential New
Member, Welcome to the 2010 Plano-Richardson
Alumnae Panhellenic (PRAP) Sorority Recruitment Information Forum. We
are so excited to have you here today to learn about the recruitment process
for sororities. The purpose of PRAP
is to: d Inform
sorority women of current trends d Promote
the sorority system d Improve
the Panhellenic image d Stimulate
a continuing interest in Panhellenic affairs Completing the
REGISTRATION FORM ONLINE will officially register you with PRAP for sorority
recruitment. What does this mean to
you? d You
have completed the first step in the recruitment process. d The
completed registration form is sent to the local alumnae groups with a
chapter at the college/university that you are planning to attend. d This
indicates to the local alumnae group that you are preparing to go to college
and of your interest in the recruitment process. d This
information is forwarded by the alumnae groups to their college/university
chapters to advise them that you will be participating in recruitment at
their school. Please be aware that most of the alumnae groups
process the deferred (spring semester) recruitment schools at the same time
as the fall recruitment schools; therefore, you should use the same timetable
as those going through fall recruitment. d Recruitment
Information Forms (RIFs) and Letters of Support [LOS] are YOUR WAY of
having the college/university chapters learn about you – your academic
record, school and community activities, hobbies and talents. It is YOUR
RESPONSIBILITY to obtain RIFs and Letters of Support. It is
acceptable to inform family, friends, teachers and neighbors about your plans
to participate in the sorority recruitment process. It is NOT the responsibility
of PRAP to secure RIFs or Letters of Support for you. We are happy
to answer any questions you have during the process and provide
guidance. DON’T
FORGET, YOU MUST REGISTER WITH YOUR COLLEGE/UNIVERSITY’S COLLEGIATE
PANHELLENIC OFFICE TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR SORORITY RECRUITMENT!!! Once you have
registered with your college/university Collegiate Panhellenic, you will
receive further information about sorority recruitment in the late
spring/early summer from the college/university Collegiate Panhellenic
Office. Please be sure to follow all deadlines outlined on their web
site or in the membership recruitment booklet. Thank you for
attending the 2010 Sorority Recruitment Information Forum. We are here
to help and answer any questions you may have. If you have any
questions or need more information, please contact one of the Fraternity
Education Team Members listed below. Best wishes as you prepare to go
off to college and begin a new adventure! Best Wishes, The 2010-2011
